Internal Audit and Compliance

AFS was engaged to assist this client with a Business Process Improvement (BPI) project which resulted in a number of tangible savings including a 75% reduction of unprocessed vendor invoices, an 80% decrease in invoice exceptions, a 60% reduction in vendor call volume and an increase in the utilization of existing IT systems.
As a result of this successful BPI project, AFS was invited to provide full internal audit outsourcing services that included Sarbanes-Oxley 404 compliance, operational audits, and continued BPI. Additionally, AFS has assisted this client in transforming their compliance efforts from a project to a process. This was accomplished through standardization of documentation, streamlining processes, implementing automated tools for efficiency and integrating new SEC and PCAOB guidance (AS5). AFS also delivered training to this client’s employees and involved operating divisions in the design and understanding of its business processes while enabling client personnel to take ownership of internal control processes, policies, and procedures documentation.
